Coulter's Credit Card: DENIED

This is hilarious.

NYPost...
Ann Coulter suffered a serious embarrassment over the weekend when her credit card was declined in Palm Beach. According to our spy, the nutty arch-conservative was caught at 9:45 p.m. Saturday night in the 10 Items or Less line at the local Publix when her card was rejected. "She was embarrassed but didn't make a scene," our witness said. "She just paid with cash and ran out of there. But at least she's eating."

I know how embarrassing that is, but I'm not a millionaire like her. It looks like she needs to book a few more speeches, considering her book sales are suffering...

Eastwood on Coulter: "very masochistic"

One of my favorite actors, Clint Eastwood made a great point about Ann Coulter and other conservatives (like Rush Limbaugh and James Dobson and Glenn Beck) in response to this...

Chicago Tribune...

Clint Eastwood, actor, film director and producer and himself a smalltown mayor, sees a sense of masochism in the Republicans -- like Ann Coulter -- who say they cannot support John McCain's bid for the White House.

And Coulter has a new line of her own.

Happy Chinese New Year.

In an interview with FOX Business Network’s Neil Cavuto live from Pebble Beach, Calif., at the site of the AT&T National Pro-Am Golf Tournament aired this evening, Eastwood talks politics.

Eastwood has this to say about Ann Coulter’s claim that she would vote for Hillary Clinton over John McCain: "Conservatives, often times, are very masochistic. They say, 'I’d rather not show up than have so-and-so. If it’s not my guy then I won’t show up’. You can’t be that way.”

Coulter, commentator and author of If Democrats Had Any Brains, They’d be Republicans, had said last week on FOX's Hannity and Colmes that she'd sooner campaign for Clinton than vote for McCain.

Tonight, on Cavuto's show, Coulter made a new offer: “If McCain weren’t a dunce, what he would do is take Mitt Romney as his vice president,'' she said on FOX. "That’s the only way, I think, you could get me to vote for him and that’s my final offer.”

Eastwood had this to say about the nomination of McCain, which was propelled today by the withdrawal of Mitt Romney: "If that’s the way it’s supposed to go then that’s the way it’s supposed to go. I like John McCain, personally, very much.”

“John McCain has talked about keeping down spending," Eastwood says, "and we’ve got to do that... IIt’s a surprise that Mitt Romney dropped out so soon, but it’s an expensive deal…and it’s an expensive deal emotionally on the family.”

Finally, sounding a bit like McCain on the campaign trail, the "Make my day" actor turned director has this to say about political spending: "Both parties and both houses seem to be spending like drunken sailors. No offense to the Navy, of course."

Also, a humorous story from Think Progress...

Brian Faughnan from the Weekly Standard reports from CPAC that right-wing pundit Ann Coulter still has plenty of books to sell:

Curiously untouched: Ann Coulter books. There are plenty left if you need to complete your collection. Note to my family: you know what you’re getting for Christmas.

Coulter was not offered a speaking slot by this year’s CPAC organizers.

Ann Coulter endorses Hillary over McCain!

Wow, I'm sure Sen. Clinton really does not want this endorsement, but she's got it.

These two videos say all that needs to be said...

LINK: Coulter: I'll campaign for Hillary if McCain is the nominee

I love Alan Colmes's reaction near the end of that clip. I also like how it is impossible for Hannity to even acknowledge her point.

Just another reason for me to dislike Romney.

UPDATE (2/7/08):
Apparently, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, and James Dobson are also vehemently opposed to McCain.

However, Coulter has stated that "If McCain weren’t a dunce, what he would do is take Mitt Romney as his vice president... That’s the only way, I think, you could get me to vote for him and that’s my final offer."

Coulter's latest book is a flop

I knew her time was up. She peaked with the Godless controversy. So I guess now she has nothing to do, but worry about the criminal case against her.

Crain'sNewYork.com
...
The auction for Karl Rove's memoir drags on a month after the Republican strategist made the rounds of publishers with Washington power lawyer Robert Barnett at his side.

“It's very, very slow,” says an executive at one of the few houses left in the bidding. Early reports had predicted a $3 million sale, but some insiders are wondering if Mr. Barnett has had trouble getting to that number. He declined to comment.

Mr. Rove isn't the only conservative meeting a backlash. The latest tome by right-wing scribe Ann Coulter, If Democrats Had Any Brains They'd Be Republicans, hasn't caught fire with book buyers.

The title spent just four weeks on The New York Times' best-seller list—compared with 12 for her previous book—and has sold 97,000 copies in the last 10 weeks, according to Nielsen BookScan, which tracks about 70% of the market.

Ms. Coulter's last effort, Godless, sold 233,000 copies over the same time span, according to BookScan.

On a side note, I recently bought Matt Drudge's book, "The Drudge Manifesto". G. Beato of the Washington Post described it as...
"Indeed, while Drudge Manifesto runs 247 pages, it takes a lot of filler to reach that length: 40 blank pages; 31 pages of fan mail; 24 pages of Drudge Report reruns; 13 pages of a Q & A that Drudge did at the National Press Club three years ago; 10 pages of titles and other book boilerplate; six pages of quotes from Drudge's favorite philosophers (Monica, Madonna, etc.); four pages of a chat transcript; three pages that include nothing but a large zero; two pages that include nothing but a large numeral 1; one page that includes nothing but a tiny zero; and one page that includes Drudge's favorite Web sites. Which leaves, in the end, 112 pages of new material, including nine pages of poetry."
...So, I definetly looking forward to reading that. I should post a review somewhat soon. I also bought "Brainless: The Lies and Lunacy of Ann Coulter" by Joe Maguire. It looks to be quite entertaining...

Elizabeth Edwards Confronts Ann Coulter

Ann Coulter was visibly displeased...

Think Progress...

Elizabeth Edwards confronted right-wing pundit Ann Coulter during a live interview on MSNBC this afternoon, charging that Coulter’s “personal attacks” on former senator John Edwards and others were based on “the language of hate.”

Yesterday on ABC’s Good Morning America, Coulter said, “[I]f I’m gonna say anything about John Edwards in the future, I’ll just wish he had been killed in a terrorist assassination plot.” She has previously called Edwards a “faggot.” In 2003, she wrote a column claiming that John Edwards drove around with a bumper sticker saying “Ask me about my son’s death in a horrific car accident.”

During an hour-long interview with Coulter today on MSNBC, host Chris Matthews announced that Elizabeth Edwards was on the line. Edwards referenced the attacks above, saying, “I’m the mother of that boy who died. These young people behind you…you’re asking them to participate in a dialogue that is based on hatefulness and ugliness instead of on the issues, and I don’t think that’s serving them or this country very well.” The live audience cheered.

Responding to Edwards, Coulter first inexplicably claimed that she “didn’t say anything about [Edwards]” on the previous day. Then Coulter tried to claim that Edwards just wanted her to “stop speaking” and stop writing books, but Matthews rebutted her, saying, “No, she said you should stop being so negative to people individually.”

When her first two attempts to spin the situation faulted, Coulter then launched into another baseless, personal attack, accusing John Edwards of “bankrupting doctors by giving a shyster Las Vegas routine in front of juries…doing these psychic routines in front of illiterate juries to bankrupt doctors who now can’t deliver babies.”

Transcript:

MATTHEWS: You know who’s on the line? Someone to respond to what you said about Edwards yesterday morning. Elizabeth Edwards. She wanted to call in today, we said she could. Elizabeth Edwards, go on the line. You’re on the line with Ann Coulter.

E: Hello Chris.

M: Do you want to say something directly to the person who’s with me?

E: I’m calling — you know, in the south, when someone does something that displeases us, we want to ask them politely to stop doing it. I would like to ask Ann Coulter to — if she wants to debate on issues, on positions — we certainly disagree with nearly everything she said on your show today — but it is quite another matter for these personal attacks. The things that she has said over the years, not just about John but about other candidates, lowers our political dialogue precisely at the time that we need to raise it. So I want to use the opportunity, which I don’t get much because Ann and I don’t hang out with the same people…

C: I don’t have enough money.

E: …to ask her politely stop the personal attacks.

C: Okay, so I made a joke, let’s see, six months ago, and as you point out, they have been raising money off of it for six months since then.

M: But this is yesterday morning, what you said about him.

C: I didn’t say anything about him, actually, either time.

E: But that — Ann, Ann, you know that’s not true, and once more, this has been going on for some time.

C: And I don’t mind you trying to raise money. It’s better this than giving $50,000 speeches to the poor just to use my name on the webpages. But as for a debate with me, yeah, sure. Yeah, we’ll have a debate.

E: I’m asking you politely to stop, to stop personal attacks –

C: How about you stop raising money on your web page then? No, you don’t have to because I don’t mind.

E: I did not start with that. You had a column a number of years ago where you suggested — wait till I finish talking please…

C: Okay, the wife of a presidential candidate is calling in asking me to stop speaking.

M: Let her finish the point. Let her finish the point.

C: You’re asking me to stop speaking? “Stop writing your columns. Stop writing your books.”

M: Ann, please.

E: You had a column several years ago which made fun of the moment of Charlie Dean’s death and suggested that my husband had a bumper sticker on the back of his car saying, “Ask me about my dead son.” This is not legitimate political dialogue.

C: This is now three years ago.

E: It debases political dialogue. It drives people away from the process. We can’t have a debate about the issues.

C: Yeah, why isn’t John Edwards making this call?

M: Well, do you want to respond? We’ll end the conversation.

E: I haven’t talked to John about this call. I’m making the call as a mother. I’m the mother of that boy who died. My children participate — these young people behind you are the age of my children. You’re asking them to participate in a dialogue that is based on hatefulness and ugliness instead of on the issues, and I don’t think that’s serving them or this country very well.

[Applause]

M: Thank you very much Elizabeth. You wanna respond? You have all the time in the world to respond.

C: I think we heard all we need to hear. The wife of a presidential candidate is asking me to stop speaking. No.

M: No, she asked you to stop being so negative to people individually.

C: Right, as opposed to bankrupting doctors by giving a schyster Las Vegas routine in front of juries based on science — wait, you said I’d have as long as I would have, then you instantly interrupt me.

M: Go ahead, go ahead.

C: As I was saying, doing these psychic routines in front of illiterate juries to bankrupt doctors who now can’t deliver babies, and to charge a poverty group $50,000 for a speech. Don’t talk to me about how to use language.

M: Elizabeth?

E: …the language of hate, and I’m going to ask you again to politely stop using personal attacks as part of your dialogue.

C: Okay, I’ll stop writing books.

E: If you can’t write them without them, that is fine.

M: Why do you call out Hillary’s chubby legs in your book? Why do you — this may fall under the category of personal attacks, I don’t know, but why do you do that? Why do you talkabout Monica Lewinsky’s chubbiness? If she were skinny, would it have been okay?

C: Um, I don’t know, read the sentence.

E: I read the whole sentence. I couldn’t feel the context.

C: Well you have to give it to me and I could explain.

E: Why do you make fun of Hillary’s chubby legs?

C: I don’t know, you’re going to have to give me the sentence.

M: It’s in the afterword of your book, I just read it this morning.

C: Then read the sentence.

M: We’ll be back and read the entire sentence. We’ll come right back. I don’t know why we’re reading — the full intellectual context will be coming in just a moment.

Coulter Cleared in Voting Fraud Case

From PalmBeachPost.com

Conservative pundit Ann Coulter has been cleared of allegations that she falsified her Palm Beach County voter's registration and voted illegally — this, after a high-level FBI agent made unsolicited phone calls to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office to vouch for Coulter.

The caller wasn't just any G-man. According to PBSO documents, he was Supervisory Special Agent Jim Fitzgerald, of the FBI Academy's Behavioral Analysis Unit in Quantico, Va. — the closest reality gets to the serial-killer catchers on CBS' Criminal Minds.

So why would an FBI profiler who went after the Unabomber take time from his busy day to even think about a municipal election snafu?

Fitzgerald is mum. But when the bureau heard about this from Page Two, it immediately launched an internal review of the agent's involvement.

"We're looking into it," bureau spokeswoman Ann Todd said.

She declined to say whether Fitzgerald acted on his personal behalf or as an FBI agent or on someone else's orders.

County Supervisor of Elections Arthur Anderson, meanwhile, decried what he called "FBI intrusion." He referred the Coulter case to PBSO after poll worker Jim Whited originally reported the incident.

"This doesn't bode well in terms of the public's impression that celebrities receive preferential treatment," Anderson said. "I'm curious about how anyone can justify the FBI's intrusion."

First-year Detective Kristine Villa in December was assigned the job of investigating whether Coulter committed a felony in February 2006, when she cast her ballot in the wrong precinct in a Palm Beach election after registering to an address that wasn't hers.

Villa's report leaves the clear impression that Coulter's attorney, Miami's Marcos Jimenez, stonewalled Villa for five months — at times agreeing to make Coulter available, at others reneging, often not returning calls promptly or claiming not to be able to reach his client.

But in one conversation with Villa, the White House-connected Jimenez said Coulter simply received bad advice from a previous lawyer when, in March 2005, she first moved into her $1.8 million home on Seabreeze Avenue. He said Coulter may have put the wrong address on record to protect herself from a stalker.

Stalker?

Enter Fitzgerald, who spoke with Villa by phone Jan. 18. He confirmed "he has been working a stalking incident" involving the best-selling author. He added that "he did not have information relating to the allegations of voting improprieties nor did he have any intention to sway the outcome" of Villa's investigation.

Still, Villa closed the probe April 12 without interviewing Coulter; a Realtor, whose Indian Road address Coulter used; or neighbors of Coulter's Seabreeze homestead.

"We stand by our detective's work," PBSO spokesman Paul Miller said. "Based on the nature of the allegations, she did as much as she could."

Miller said Villa, who last month returned to uniformed detail at Palm Beach International Airport, based her decision to clear Coulter on poll worker Whited's testimony.

Whited, a staunch Republican who once ran for West Palm Beach mayor, told Page Two last year that Coulter dashed out of his polling place when he asked her to write a change of address. He later bragged on a radio show that he witnessed her committing a felony.

To Villa three months ago, however, Whited said Coulter may have misunderstood him and that he may have had a hand in her voting in the wrong precinct.

Anderson, whose office has been under fire for voting glitches, said he'll mull Villa's report before deciding whether he'll ask the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to step in.

As for Coulter's alleged stalker, check this out: Fitzgerald identified him as conservative Christian, rabid anti-Coulter blogger Dan Borchers of coulterwatch.com. Borchers said he remembers talking to two FBI agents about stalking accusations — in 1998.

"They stayed for five minutes," he said, "told me to be careful not to scare Ann Coulter. She hollers stalker at anybody who opposes her."

Fitzgerald told Villa that the supposed Borchers probe led to no arrest and he saw no reason why Coulter's address should remain secret.

Coulter gets "Worst Person" for "faggot" remark...

Media Matters:
As Media Matters for America documented, during her March 2 speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), Coulter said she "can't really talk about" Edwards, a Democratic presidential candidate and former senator, because "you have to go into rehab if you use the word 'faggot.' "

Additionally, Olbermann named syndicated radio host Rush Limbaugh "Worst Person" runner-up for, as Media Matters noted, stating that, since ancestors of Rev. Al Sharpton were slaves and ancestors of Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) were slaveowners, "could we not say that if Obama wins the Democratic nomination and then wins the presidency, he will own Al Sharpton?"

From the March 5 edition of MSNBC's Countdown with Keith Olbermann:

OLBERMANN: Thank you, Amy. Couldn't resist this trio. I'm just sorry there could not be golds for all of them. The bronze to Newt Gingrich, visiting us briefly in this dimension to blame the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina on a, quote, "failure of citizenship in the Ninth Ward, where 22,000 people were so uneducated and so unprepared they literally couldn't get out of the way of a hurricane." Yeah, Newt, all that education sure helped the Bush administration shine after the hurricane.

The bronze [sic: runner-up], comedian Rush Limbaugh, pointing out that since ancestors of Al Sharpton were slaves and ancestors of Senator Barack Obama were slaveowners, quoting again, "could we not say that if Obama wins the Democratic nomination and then wins the presidency, he will own Al Sharpton?" No, actually, we couldn't say that. But we could say that any lingering doubt about this is at an end: Rush Limbaugh is a racist.

But the gold, of course, to Coultergeist. Calling John Edwards that name. I mean, Annie, just because you're more mannish-looking? Hell, you're more mannish looking than every man on the planet. Coultergeist, today's "Worst Person in the World"!

FNC Humor: "...droppable, to say the least"

I predict a lot of really bad things coming from this show...

Radar Online
:
Breathe easy, Jon Stewart. It's looking like the satire program billed as Fox News Channel's answer to The Daily Show will combine the timeliness of Newsweek with the incisive wit of Mallard Fillmore. So far, Fox has taped two episodes of The Half-Hour News Hour, as the show is being called. (Its working title, This Just In, had to be scrapped, as AOL has a broadband channel with that name.)

Producer Joel Surnow, whose credits also include 24, has described the show as a cross between Comedy Central's Daily Show and Saturday Night Live's "Weekend Update" segment. A source who attended the tapings describes the format as far more similar to the latter, with a two-anchor setup and skits interspersed with the talking-head segments. "It was hit and miss—some stuff was inspired, and some was droppable, to say the least," says the source. Not surprisingly, he adds, most of the jokes had a conservative slant.

Comedians Kurt Long and Susan Yeagley share anchor duties, and toss to a cast of correspondents that includes original Daily Show cast member Brian Unger. Guests so far have included Rush Limbaugh (who bragged about appearing in a skit as the president, with Ann Coulter as his vice president), comedian Dom Irrera, and original Hollywood Squares host Peter Marshall. While early reports on the show promised a January debut, as of now, no air date has been set.

LINK: FNC's Daily Show Rip-off Falls Flat

...

MediaBistro:

It sounds like Rush Limbaugh is making an appearance in FNC's news satire pilot:
"I went out and did some television Saturday in Los Angeles," the radio host said on Monday. "There's a new show that probably will air soon, I'm not sure when, but it's called The Half Hour NewsHour. That's the working title of it now. I guess that's subject to change. Well, actually it's not, because if it changes I gotta go back out there, but nevertheless it's a parody newscast, takeoff on liberal media newscasts, and I play the president of the United States in the opening segments of this program.
I went out and shot three takes. Ann Coulter is the vice president. (laughing) It's hilarious. The whole thing is hilarious..."

Ann Coulter Says She Won't Cooperate in Voting Probe

Well, duh.

From Editor & Publisher...
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. Conservative columnist Ann Coulter has refused to
cooperate in an investigation into whether she voted in the wrong precinct, so
the case will probably be turned over to prosecutors, Palm Beach County's
elections chief said Wednesday.

Knowingly voting in the wrong precinct is a felony punishable by up to five
years in prison.

Elections Supervisor Arthur Anderson said his office has been looking into
the matter for nearly nine months, and he would turn over the case to the state
attorney's office by Friday.

Anderson added that Coulter, since the allegations surfaced, made "efforts
to distract and divert focus on the process regarding this complaint. ... I did
express my frustration to the state attorney in a recent meeting and warned him
I may need his services," according to an article in the Palm Beach Post.

But Anderson said Coulter's voting rights would not be rescinded for next
week's election. Coulter's TV comments and newspaper columns routinely spark
outrage, an effect that she cultivates. The columnist has bashed widows of the
Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attack victims as pro-Democrat propagandists, and has
repeatedly ridiculed Islam and Muslims.

Coulter's attorney did not immediately return a call Wednesday. Nor did her
publicist at her publisher, Crown Publishing.Anderson's office received a
complaint in February that Coulter voted in the wrong precinct during a Feb. 7
Palm Beach town council election.

Anderson, a Democrat, said a letter was sent to Coulter on March 27
requesting that she clarify her address for the voting records "or face the
possibility of her voter registration being rescinded." Three more letters were
sent to Coulter and her attorney, but she has yet to respond with the
information requested, Anderson said.

In July, Anderson said, he received a letter from Coulter's attorney,
Marcos Daniel Jimenez D'Clouet. The letter said the attorney would only discuss
the matter in person or by telephone because, he complained, Anderson had given
details to the media. Anderson said the matter had to be discussed in
writing.

Eighteen Years

Well today is my 18th Birthday. Sorry I have been lame of posting lately -- not too much news. However, I am working on my second "weekly" column called "The O'Rivalry Factor" AND I picked up my copy of "GODLESS: The Church of Liberalism" by Ann "Screaming Banshee from Hell" Coulter. I will post a review after I finish reading it. I have drudged through two chapters already and I honestly think I am going to skip the anti-evolution stuff.

By the way, her writing is obviously a ghostwriter. She does not write how she speaks.

I refuse to read Pat Buchanan's book, nor give him any more media attention than this mention. I can't stand him.

Coulter: Clinton is a "latent homosexual"

I saw this entire interview on The Big Idea with Donnie Deutsch.

Media Matters used the video clip from MSNBC.

Transcript:

From the July 26 edition of MSNBC News Live:

ROBACH: Well, no one has ever accused Ann Coulter of holding back on what she really thinks. Now, she's sharing her theory on Bill Clinton's sexuality. In a taped segment on tonight's edition of CNBC's The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch, Coulter said she believes the former president's behavior shows, quote, "some level of latent homosexuality."

[begin video clip]

DEUTSCH: Off the air, you were talking about Bill Clinton. Is there anything you want to say about Clinton?

COULTER: No.

DEUTSCH: No? OK. All right. Did you find him attractive? Is that what it was?

COULTER: No!

DEUTSCH: You don't find him attractive?

COULTER: No. OK, fine, I'll say it on air.

DEUTSCH: Most women find him attractive.

COULTER: No.

DEUTSCH: OK, say it on air.

COULTER: I think that sort of rampant promiscuity does show some level of latent homosexuality.

DEUTSCH: OK, I think you need to say that again -- that Bill Clinton, you think, on some level has -- is a latent homosexual. Is that what you're saying?

COULTER: Yeah. I mean that sort of just completely anonymous -- I don't know if you read the Starr Report. The rest of us were glued to it. I have many passages memorized. No, there is more plot and dialogue in a porno movie.

[end video clip]

ROBACH: The Coulter interview can be seen in its entirety tonight on The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch, that's at 10 p.m. Eastern on CNBC. Coulter will also be a guest on Hardball tonight at 7. That's right here on MSNBC. A night of must-see TV, featuring the one and only Ann Coulter.

Good News...

Update: Company to Probe Coulter Plagiarism Charges

I heard back from Universal Press Syndicate's Kathie Kerr. Her company distributes Ann Coulter's column to over 100 newspapers around the country -- columns which, according to recent news, may have contained plagiarized material.

I had asked Kerr earlier this morning whether her company was taking any action in response to these published claims.

In an email, Kerr thanked me for bringing the assertions to UPS's attention, and asked me to get a copy of the report to them. "If Mr. Barrie would be so kind to send Lee Salem, President and Editor of Universal Press Syndicate his report, we will be happy to review it. Until we do, there's little we can say about it," she wrote me. John Barrie was the New York Post's expert source who claimed to have identified Coulter's plagiarized passages.

In my reply, I explained to Kerr that Barrie had been quoted not by me but by the New York Post, and perhaps that paper would be a good source of information. Kerr replied: "we have no contact information."

A few minutes later, however, Ms. Kerr located Barrie's contact information on the Web and said she would try to call him herself. Moments later, another email from Ms. Kerr arrived: "I've left Mr. Barrie a message."

Sounds like the Coulter plagiarism investigation is off to a flying start. I've put in a call myself to Mr. Barrie, and am waiting to hear back. I'll let you know what I find out.

No Charges for Limbaugh Over Viagra

By BRIAN SKOLOFF, Associated Press Writer Wed Jul 5, 7:25 PM ET

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Rush Limbaugh will not face charges in Palm Beach County for the bottle of Viagra found in his luggage that was prescribed in his psychologist's name, prosecutors said Wednesday.

Charges could have nullified the conservative radio host's plea agreement in a "doctor shopping" case.

Limbaugh, 55, was detained for more than three hours at Palm Beach International Airport on June 26 after he returned on his private plane from a vacation in the Dominican Republic.

The state attorney's office said the medication was prescribed by Limbaugh's cardiologist, Dr. Steven Schnur, to Limbaugh's psychologist and addiction counselor, Steve Strumwasser. Strumwasser then provided the Viagra to Limbaugh, said state attorney spokesman Mike Edmondson.

Strumwasser told authorities he "agreed to have his name on the label in an effort to avoid potentially embarrassing publicity for the suspect," according to the state attorney's office filing. "Thus, the medication contained in the subject pill bottle was legitimately prescribed to the suspect by his physician."

It is generally not illegal under Florida law for a physician to prescribe medication in a third party's name if all parties are aware and the doctor documents it correctly, Edmondson said.

However, since the doctor wrote the prescription in Miami-Dade County, the case was forwarded to prosecutors there for review. The Miami-Dade state attorney's office had no immediate comment.

The Palm Beach County state attorney's office also said it forwarded the matter to the state Department of Professional Regulation and the Department of Health to determine whether the doctor breached ethics.

Department spokeswoman Thometta Cozart said she did not know whether the prescription was an ethical breach.

Limbaugh said on his radio show Wednesday that prosecutors declined to file charges because "there were no laws broken."

The office of Limbaugh's lawyer, Roy Black, referred questions Wednesday to Limbaugh spokesman Tony Knight. Knight declined to comment.

In an affidavit, Limbaugh said: "Dr. Strumwasser has been extraordinarily careful, at my request, to protect my privacy in all matters concerning his treatment of me."

Schnur had no comment because of patient confidentiality concerns, said spokesman Todd Templin. Calls seeking comment from Strumwasser were not immediately returned Wednesday.

Charges in the Viagra case could have nullified a deal Limbaugh reached with prosecutors last month in which a single "doctor shopping" charge was deferred for 18 months, so long as Limbaugh does not get arrested for any reason.

Authorities had accused Limbaugh of illegally deceiving multiple doctors to get overlapping painkiller prescriptions. Limbaugh denied the charges but acknowledged he was addicted to painkillers.

Coulter the Cruel

There is just no way else to put it...

Check out these Media Matters articles...

The Media Matters Collection of the Coulter Insanity

I can't talk about this anymore.

And, by the way, please don't buy her book. I will get it free from the library and review it so you don't have to. I read part of her "How to talk to a liberal". Poorly written and extreme, merely to get a response from anyone. She is an attention whore. Don't give her any. Just leave her alone.

Coulter: President Clinton "molest[ed] the help"

I really hate Ann Coulter.

Here's the transcript from Media Matters...

As Media Matters for America noted, Coulter has previously referred to Clinton as a "very good rapist."

From the May 8 edition of Fox News' Your World with Neil Cavuto:

CAVUTO: I always love it when my next guest is on. Former vice president Al Gore riding high, thanks to a new film about global warming. Advisors insist that Mr. Gore is not running for president, but at least one report says he's testing the waters. So, will it be Clinton versus Gore in '08? Here, now, is a somewhat conservative author, Ann Coulter. Her new book, Godless (Crown, June 2006), is due out on 6-6-06. This woman knows how to market. Anyway, Ann, good to see you
COULTER: Great to be here.
CAVUTO: What do you make of the Gore news?
COULTER: Well, one thing that was mentioned in that article -- the Clinton-Gore discomfort with one another based on Gore feeling like he lost the election because of Clinton, being tied to Clinton, and of course, the myth among the Clinton people and Democrats generally that, "Oh no, he didn't associate himself closely with Clinton enough." I mean, that really is craziness. Gore was the one running. He had lots of pollsters and they were all telling him, "This guy is -- is a weight around your neck," which is why he did everything he could to separate himself, choosing the most --
CAVUTO: But that's really hard for a veep to do.
COULTER: Right. He didn't do it enough. But what's peculiar is how you still see Democrats saying, "Oh, Gore and -- Clinton, he's so -- he's massively popular. He's like Elvis when he walks into the room." But he could never get 50 percent of the country to vote for him. And they're trying to persuade us that once the country found out he was molesting the help, oh well, then they all liked him, even though a majority wouldn't vote for him.
CAVUTO: He was not molesting the help. All right.
